For nearly 30 years, Gypsy Soul has built a career around one simple idea: make honest music, tell meaningful stories, and create genuine connection. Cilette Swann and Roman Morykit chose an independent path early on—not as a rebellion against the music industry, but as a way to remain close to the work and the people who respond to it.
Their live shows are as much about what happens between the songs as the songs themselves: intimate, funny, moving and deeply human evenings where music and storytelling invite an audience to feel part of something shared.
Short Bio
Gypsy Soul is the husband-and-wife duo of vocalist/lyricist Cilette Swann and multi-instrumentalist/producer Roman Morykit. After meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland, they began writing together and eventually built an independent music career that has now spanned nearly three decades.
Long before artist independence became commonplace, Cilette and Roman made a conscious choice to create outside the traditional label model—recording their own albums, producing their own concerts, touring extensively and building a direct relationship with their audience. That path has led to 15 albums, more than 1.6 million downloads, a Top 40 Adult Contemporary single, numerous songwriting and performance honors, and music placements in television and film.
Yet the heart of Gypsy Soul is found onstage. Their concerts weave songs with candid storytelling, humor and reflections drawn from a life in music, marriage and travel—creating performances that feel less like a presentation and more like a conversation.
