We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance soon after making your deposit.
Why timing matters:
Some policies include preexisting condition coverage only if purchased within a limited time window (which can often be 10–21 days.) There are exceptions with a “60 Day Look Back" for preexisting conditions with many policies but only if you have not yet paid your trip in full. The same goes for “Cancel for Any Reason” (CFAR) eligibility. Please review carefully with your insurer. Here's a good article explaining the ins and outs of travel insurance:

-Independent travel (flights, hotels, etc.) may require separate coverage

⚕️ Medical Coverage While Traveling ⚕️
As this cruise takes place on a foreign-registered vessel please note:
-Most U.S. health plans (including Medicare/Gap) do not provide coverage onboard or abroad
-Medical services may require out-of-pocket payment
-Emergency care or evacuation can be very costly without adequate coverage; please review all your coverage options with your insurer and confirm your protection in advance.
🇨🇦 Canada Entry Requirements 🇨🇦
This itinerary includes a stop in Victoria, British Columbia.
Canada has strict entry requirements (please read.) Certain past offenses (including DUIs/reckless driving etc.) will affect admissibility—even from many years ago.
We strongly encourage you to research this well in advance so you can travel with confidence. Please contact Canadian Immigration and/or Border Patrol for more information.

Why a 30th Anniversary Cruise?
Because this journey has always been about more than music—it’s about connection, community, and the stories we’ve shared along the way.
Is this a private charter?
No. This is a public Holland America sailing with exclusive Gypsy Soul events for our group.
What is the Gypsy Soul Celebration Package Host Fee?
There will be a $175 per guest host fee (billed at a later date, separate from your cruise booking)
which covers two private receptions, three concerts, event production and staff expenses.
Are there different participation levels?
No—this is a shared experience for all guests.

Is the “Have It All” package required?
No—it’s optional, though many guests find it valuable for updated wi-fi coverage, a premium drinks package, 1 x specialty dining and pre-paid gratuities. This package is per person.
Can I bring guests?
Yes—guests must book through Sue Pierce to access the Gypsy Soul group's private events.
Deposits & Refunds* (*Please put reminders on your calendar!)
A deposit of $400 per person is required for our group. Suites may require higher deposits. This includes a $50 fee paid to Gypsy Soul to cover Holland America’s 85-room block deposit. Deposits are fully refundable through May 22, 2027. For exact terms, payment schedules, and cancellation fees, please contact Sue Pierce and/or Holland America.

Cancellations 90+ days before commencing travel: 100% refund;
89-83 days before commencing travel: 100% refund, less required deposit amount; 82-46 before commencing travel: 50% refund of gross fare;
45 days or less before commencing travel: No refund available.

You can book your excursions, spa visits and dining preferences directly with Holland America via their Navigator App which we recommend you get soon.
Excursions + Ship Returns:
Guests must return to the ship 1.5 hours prior to departure from each port.

Cancellation, Travel Protection and Emergency Assistance
Please review HAL's Cancellation Protection Plan, Travel Protections and Emergency Assistance. Check with your insurer and compare commercial plans over and above HAL's offerings. You will want to protect both yourselves and your investment. Examples include: Aon, Squaremouth, Allianz Travel, and Travel Insurance Store. There are a lot of moving parts, so it is worth educating yourselves early on in the game.
🎤 During the Cruise 🎤
How many times will Gypsy Soul perform and what times are their shows? We will have three scheduled performances on ‘sea days’ or half sea days, so no one feels they need rush back to the ship from port. Currently, the events are scheduled on the World Stage between 4-5pm. Each show is themed: “Covers Only by Request"; “Keynote Concert Style” (more stories) and "Love Songs." We will take cover song requests closer to our sailing date.
Will Gypsy Soul be accessible during the week?
Yes—we will be present during the cruise with concerts and private receptions as the primary structured events. Additionally, we hope to share some happy-hour and dining experiences with our guests.
Will there be special merchandise:
Exclusive, limited-edition, anniversary jewelry, clothing, music and books etc. will be available for purchase in advance of the trip and during the cruise.

Holland America’s 24-hour room service offers a wide variety of complimentary and à la carte options—morning, noon, and night—delivered right to your stateroom.
Inspired by the festive spirit of Koningsdag in the Netherlands, Holland America's Orange Party at Sea invites guests to dress in orange and join a lively onboard gathering filled with music, dancing, interactive moments and festive Dutch flair. In addition, every sailing holds Dutch Day, a themed day with traditional Dutch cuisine, special menus and cultural treats. There's also the Royal Dutch Tea Experience, which is offered in the dining room on all sea days.
